Dry Eye Disease

Comprehensive Dry Eye Relief

ND101 eye drops are specially formulated to enhance tear production, effectively alleviating dryness and discomfort while promoting the healing of the corneal epithelium.

Superior Tear Film Stability

By improving mucin layer expression, ND101 enhances tear film stability, resulting in better visual clarity and sustained comfort for users, making it ideal for those with dry eye symptoms.

Ocular Protection

ND101 safeguards your eyes from osmotic stress by lowering tear hyperosmolarity, which protects corneal and conjunctival tissues, ensuring long-term ocular health and comfort.

Anti-Inflammatory action

With potent anti-inflammatory properties, ND101 Eye Drops target and neutralize inflammatory mediators, helping to alleviate redness, irritation, and discomfort, thereby promoting overall eye wellness.

Preclinical Proven Effectiveness

Supported by preclinical studies, ND101 has demonstrated its effectiveness in treating dry eyes, offering a scientifically backed solution for those seeking optimal eye health.

What is dry eye disease?

Often dismissed as a minor discomfort, dry eyes have become a widespread concern worldwide. This condition persists and escalates, causing irritation and vision challenges, affecting people of all ages. Dry Eye Disease occurs when your eyes struggle to maintain a healthy tear film, an essential shield for keeping the eye’s surface smooth, clear, and resistant to infections. Imbalances in tear production, quality, or distribution, can occur due to various factors, including physiological changes, environmental influence, or underlying medical conditions. These discrepancies lead to symptoms such as dryness and irritation, which can interfere with daily activities and overall comfort.

Dry eye syndrome can be categorized into two main types: Aqueous deficient and Evaporative dry eyes. Aqueous-deficient dry eye occurs when the eye fails to produce an adequate amount of the watery component of tears. Evaporative dry eye, on the other hand, arises from insufficient oil production, often due to dysfunction of the meibomian glands, leading to increased tear evaporation.

Chronic Condition

Dry eye disease is a chronic condition that requires continuous care.

Gender

Anyone can experience dry eye, but the condition is more common in females than in males.

Hidden Ailment

Dry eye disease often goes unnoticed, especially in older adults, contact lens wearers, individuals with autoimmune conditions, and heavy screen users. Regular eye examinations are crucial for evaluating the integrity of the ocular surface.

OUR ONGOING RESEARCH

ND101 eye drops, a formulation that embodies several essential functions for maintaining optimal eye health. Our preclinical studies have demonstrated the promising effectiveness of ND101 Eye Drops in treating dry eyes.

Enhancing Tear Production

ND101 eye drops effectively increase tear production, providing relief from dryness and discomfort, while also promoting corneal epithelial wound healing.

Improving tear film dynamics

ND101 eye drops play a significant role in enhancing tear film stability, resulting in improved visual clarity and comfort for the patient.

Combating inflammation

These eye drops exhibit remarkable anti-inflammatory properties, targeting the inflammatory mediators. By reducing redness and irritation, ND101 creates a conducive environment for overall eye wellness.

Protecting against osmotic stress

By lowering tear hyperosmolarity, ND101 eye drops help shield corneal and conjunctival tissues from the harmful effects of osmotic stress, thereby safeguarding long-term ocular health.

Prevalence

Dry eye disease is a widespread global issue, impacting millions of individuals across different age groups. According to the estimates, dry eye affects approximately 11.59% of the global population and around 8.1% of people in the United States with the occurrence increasing among both younger and older adults. Moreover, geographical factors such as living in arid regions or urban areas can heighten the risk. Given its widespread impact, dry eye disease poses a significant public health challenge.

Complications of untreated eye disease

Treating dry eyes not only enhances comfort and clarity of vision but also protects against significant ocular health risks. In cases of dry eyes with an unstable tear film, the cornea becomes susceptible to abrasions by particles like dirt or sand. This vulnerability creates an opportunity for bacterial infiltration, potentially leading to severe eye conditions, including conjunctivitis, keratitis, and corneal ulcers.
